Loyalty and referrals

Zappocity can reward people with points: for paying, for inviting people who become customers, and for Mailocity invitations that get used. Points buy credit on an organization's balance, or more Mailocity invitations. Every rule is a setting, and the program is off until staff turn it on.

Points belong to people, not organizations: they follow a person who moves between organizations, and a referral is made by a person.

Earning points

HowWho gets themSetting
Money paid on an invoice (not credit), per whole dollarthe organization's first ownerPoints per dollar paid
Someone you invited (with the link under Invite friends on the account page) has an organization that pays for the first timeyou, once per person invitedPoints for a referral
...and at that same paymentthe person invited, onceWelcome points
Confirming a new Zappocity accountthe new person, oncePoints for confirming a new account
Someone signs up to Mailocity with an invitation your mailbox gaveyou, when that mailbox signs in with your Zappocity accountPoints when a Mailocity invitation is used

A referral counts when the invited person is an owner of the organization that pays, and only real money counts (an invoice paid wholly by credit does not). Each reward is given once for the same payment or person.

Spending points

On the account page, under Points:

Setting it up

In the Zappocity panel, Settings → Loyalty and referrals, or:

corpsuite loyalty set enabled:=true pointsPerDollar:=1 referralPoints:=500 welcomePoints:=200 pointValue:=100 minRedeemPoints:=500 inviteCostPoints:=100 inviteUsedPoints:=20

A used invitation must earn fewer points than an invitation costs, so inviting yourself never makes points. Turning the program off stops all earning and spending; points people have stay.

Seeing and changing points

Each person's page in the Zappocity panel shows their points and every change, with who made it. Give points adds or takes away points with a reason (corpsuite points add PERSON-ID points:=250 description="Thanks for the bug report"; corpsuite points PERSON-ID lists them). Changes are never edited or deleted; correct a mistake with an opposite entry.

Staff need read to look and billing to change rules or points.

Not yet

Points do not expire, and there are no tiers or point multipliers.
