Deleting mailboxes and accounts

Mailboxes (Mailocity) and Zappocity accounts can be deleted by the people who own them, by a team's owners and admins (mailboxes), and by staff.

The grace period

A deletion waits for the grace period (14 days by default; set it in the Zappocity panel under Settings → Signup, deletionGraceDays, 0 to 90). Until then everything works as before, so the owner can take out what they want to keep, and the deletion can be cancelled. Then the hourly run deletes it. Staff and team admins can also delete a mailbox at once; a grace period of 0 makes every deletion immediate.

Mailboxes

Deleting a mailbox removes it and everything in it: mail, folders, aliases, calendars, contacts, tasks, filters, app passwords, sessions and shares. Its mail files are removed from the disk. A line stays in the team's Deleted mailboxes (address, who asked, when).

It is refused:

The compliance archive keeps its copies of the mailbox's mail for its retention period: deleting a mailbox does not delete archived mail.

Zappocity accounts

Deleting a Zappocity account erases it: the email address, name, password, profile and badges, two-step sign-in and security keys, sessions, sign-in history, invitations and memberships go. Records that must stay (invoices, the balance and points history, the audit log) keep a placeholder ("deleted") with none of those details. The email address can sign up again.

It is refused while the person is the only owner of an organization that has other members or products: make someone else an owner, or cancel its products, first.
